Mani Ratnam's latest outing Chekka Chivantha Vaanam has turned out to be a money spinner at the Box Office ever since its release on Friday. The film which won rave reviews from all quarters has being doing phenomenal business at the Box Office. The film which had grossed over Rs. 50 crore in its extended weekend (4 days) also had a bonus Gandhi Jayanthi holiday advantage.
In Chennai City, the film has grossed Rs. 96 lakhs bringing up the total collection to Rs. 5.37 cr. The film is estimated to have grossed around Rs. 34-35 cr in 6 days. CCV is the tenth film to cross Rs. 5 crore mark in Chennai City this year after Thanaa Serntha Kootam, Padmaavat, Avengers Infinity War, Irumbu Thirai, Kaala, Tik Tik Tik, Kadaikutty Singam, Kolamaavu Kokila and Imaikkaa Nodigal. The film has grossed around Rs. 24 cr in its opening weekend in the overseas market.
