Parthipan's experimental one man show 'Oththa Seruppu Size 7' had entered the Asia book of records and India book of records for having a single person writing, directing, solo acting and producing a film. The film which hit the screens worldwide on September 20 won appreciation from all quarters.
However due to new releases, the film screening was reduced to a single show in some theatres while few exhibitors had decided to stop the screening to accommodate new films. Parthipan expressed his disappointment over the theatre owner's decision to reduce the shows. He also requested them to increase the shows overlooking commercial gains.
Parthiban also spoke to Tamil Nadu information and publicity minister Kadambur C Raju expressing his concern over reduced shows for OS7. "OthaSeruppu is a milestone film in Tamil industry made on par with International levels with a solo-act performance. Parthipan has made a big effort to bring out such a kind of film. The TN government will recommend the film to the Central Government for National Award. This film well deserves an Oscar. The film has got good reception not only in 'A' centres but in 'B' and 'C' centres as well," said the minister requesting theatre owners to support the film.
Parthiepan posted a tweet on social media, thanking everyone and the exhibitors for having agreed to increase the show count of his film following Minister's speech.
