Cyclone Tauktae battered the states along the west coast on Wednesday and one of the worst affected areas was Mumbai, Maharashtra. Among the multiple property damage were Hindi film sets too, that were put up on the outskirts of the city.
Maidaan is one of producer Boney Kapoor's upcoming productions and set in the which Ajay Devgn was supposed to shoot a large part of the film was badly damaged, to the point of complete destruction. Reportedly 40 crew members were on the sets when cyclone hit but thankfully there were no loss of lives.
Another film set that was put around the film city in Mumbai was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubhai Kathiawadi, which stars Alia Bhatt in the lead. The set averted serious damage as only recently it was sheet-proofed but it did take a hit from the cyclone.
A set replicating Dubai had been erected at SRPF Ground in Mumbai's Goregaon for Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3. The winds and rains are said to have partially destroyed this movie set as well.
