Director Shankar's Anniyan Hindi remake is slated to go on floors from mid-2022 and will be jointly produced by Jayantilal Gada of Penn Studios and God Bless Entertainment. Recently, it was confirmed that the movie will be headed for a theatrical release as with other movies from Penn Studios.

Back in March, we had reported about a circulating buzz that actress Kiara Advani Of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Bharat Ane Nenu fame was being considered to play female lead; Recently the actress might have confirmed her casting during a video interaction with her fans online.

During a Q&A session, a fan was spotted asking Kiara as to who she would like to co-star with next and the actress, replied 'Ranveer Singh' with a meaningful smile. Many online have taken this to be a confirmation of her reprising the role of 'Nandini' from Anniyan, originally played by actress Sada.
