Writer, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga who famously or infamously made Arjun Reddy (2017) / Kabir Singh (2019), is back with another one in his style - Animal. The Hindi movie starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol among others had its trailer release earlier in the day, and one of the scenes in the video cut, featured Ranbir wielding a big machine gun.
To the Tamil audience this scene is reminiscent of director Lokesh Kangaraj's works, since movies from his LCU franchise - Kaithi (2019) and Vikram (2022) popularized the use of heavy machine guns by lead actors. Post the Animal trailer drop, a Tamil netizen posted about having to blame director Lokesh Kanagaraj for setting this trend.

Few Movies before kaithi had such scenes with machine gun.
— Fdp (@lovelyfpras7) November 23, 2023
But it was kaithi's scene which was high intense and was recognised by many, so Loki started the trend. And followed by KGF, Vikram, Thunivu, Mark Antony etc.. https://t.co/A7HwkZf65u

After the filmmaker's official handle liked said X post, the original social media poster clarified that his tweet was sent out in jest, and he did not mean it seriously. Lokesh Kanagaraj has liked this post as well.
