Actor Suriya and director Vetrimaaran's long pending project Vaadivaasal is expected to take off once Vetrimaaran completes Viduthalai Part 2. Grass Root Films, director Vetrimaaran's production banner has now updated that the filmmaker has not intentions of replacing director Ameer in the project, as were speculations due to the Paruthiveeran row that has taken over Tamil social media last few days.
Director Ameer came at actor Suriya's brother Karthi for not inviting him to the Japan audio launch event as one of the filmmakers who shaped Karthi's career. Ameer is the director of Karthi's debut movie Paruthiveeran (2007) and is still in a legal battle with the film's producer KE Gnanavel Raja (Suriya, Karthi's distant relative) over production costs.
Post Ameer's public call out, KE Gnanavel Raja initiated a war of words (allegations) with Ameer and ended up at the receiving end of those supporting director Ameer. Suriya whom Ameer had directed in Mounam Pesiyadhe (2022), and Karthi were called out for being mute spectators of this quite defamatory row and this led to buzz that Ameer will be exited from Vaadivaasal.
However Vetrimaaran has put an end to these speculations with an X post that reads,
Director #VetriMaaran met Director #Ameer to discuss his role in #Vaadivaasal. The prominence of his role in the script has increased during the writing process and is tailor made for Director #Ameer.
