Filmmaker SS Rajamouli who gained PAN Indian attention with the Baahubali movies, and the world's attention with the Ram Charan, Jr. NTR starrer RRR, is currently touring Japan as part of RRR film's post-release promotional events. On Friday, the celebrated director took to his X page to update that RRR has been adapted into a stage play by a 110 year old Japanese company named Takarazuka.
Sharing stills and videos with the RRR play actors, SS Rajamouli also thanked the Japanese Broadway audience for embracing the stage adaptation of his blockbuster movie.

On March 18, 2024 RRR had a special screening in Japan 752 days since the original theatrical release, and 513 days since RRR's Japan theatrical release. The movie's official handle had shared a video of the Japanese audience reacting to the movie and SS Rajamouli recording the same.

Also starring Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran among others, RRR released in theaters on March 25, 2022 and went on to gross Rs. 1387 Cr+ at the box-office worldwide. RRR's viral Naatu Naatu song composed by MM Keeravani, won 'Best Original Song' at the 95th Academy Awards, making it the first Indian song to win at the Oscars.
