After the brain-worm Minikki Minikki, a second single from Vikram starrer Thangalaan has now released. Titled Thangalaan War, this GV Prakash composition had a lyric video release on Friday, and Vikram's titular character is seen in a beast mode in the video. Thangalaan War has lyrics by Arivu, and vocals by GV Prakash, Arivu.

Thangalaan, titled after the 'Tangalan Paraiyar' caste group in South India, follows the story of a fierce tribal leader (Vikram) during the British Raj, who sets out to stop Aarathi (Malavika Mohanan), an apparent sorceress, after earning her wrath when assisting British general Lord Clement (Daniel Caltagirone) in tracing gold in their village. 

The film captures the actual story of KGF years ago, when the Kolar Gold Mine Field was discovered by Britishers, and was exploited and looted by the colonizers, sparking a massive rebellion among the locales. Certified U/A, Thangalaan comes with a runtime of 2 hours and 35 minutes (approximately), and is produced by Studio Green, Neelam Productions. 

Thangalaan is scheduled to release in theaters on August 15, 2024, for Independence day Thursday.
