[Updated: September 9, 2024] Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth in the lead is an upcoming multi-starrer that is scheduled to release on October 10, 2024 for Dusshera. Lyca Productions, the banner behind the movie officially announced the Vettaiyan first single release date as September 9, 2024 (Monday). 

Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, Vettaiyan first single is titled Manasilaayo. The music composer has hinted the song to be a duet dance number. Previously, reports were rife that Manasilaayo has been penned by lyricist Super Subu of Jailer's Hukum song fame.

Now it has been officially announced that Manasilaayo has lyrics by Vishnu Edavan, Super Subu, and has vocals of late Malaysia Vasudevan recreated through AI, his song Yugendran Vasudevan, and singer Deepthi Suresh. Late Malaysia Vasudevan's voice is appearing on a Rajinikanth movie after 27 years.

Vettaiyan comes with an ensemble of Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Kishore, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Shaji Chen, Ramesh Thilak, VJ Rakshan, G. M. Sundar, among others. Sony Music label holds the audio rights to this movie, which is written and directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim (2021), Kootathil Oruthan (2017) fame.
