Meiyazhagan: A peek into the world of Sathyam Sundaram

Meiyazhagan starring actors Karthi and Arvind Swami in the lead is an upcoming Tamil movie that is slated to release in theaters on September 27, 2024. The movie titled Sathyam Sundaram in Telugu, is written and directed by C Prem Kumar of 96 (2018), and its Telugu version Jaanu (2020) fame. 

 

Star couple Suriya and Jyotika have produced Meiyazhagan under their production banner 2D Entertainment, and recently they announced that the Meiyazhagan teaser has crossed 5M+ views in 24 hours since its release.

 

 

From what one sees in the Meiyazhagan teaser, the story is set in Needamangalam, a town panchayath near Thanjavur. Arvind Swami's character seems to be in some sort of financial trouble, whereas an oblivious Karthi, who seems to be a distant relative, comes in time as Swami's handy rescue. 

 

Besides the fact the Karthi's character is a staunch devotee of Hindu lord Murugan, not much else is revealed including his name. Arvind Swami on the other hand seems to be making use of Karthi's oblivious friendliness, to lay low in Needamangalam. 

Meiyazhagan also stars Sri Divya, Rajkiran, Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, Saran Shakthi, Raichal Rabecca, Merku Thodarchi Malai Antony, Rajkumar, Indumathy Manikandan, Rani Samyuktha, Kayal Subramani, Ashok Pandian, among others. 

Meiyazhagan's technical crew includes 96, Jaanu composer Govind Vasantha for music, 96, Jaanu dop Mehendran Raju for cinematography, 96 editor R. Govindaraj for edits, Ayyapan for art, Rajeevan for production design, and Subha Shree for costumes. 

Think Music label holds the audio rights to Meiyazhagan's soundtrack. Prime Media is releasing Meiyazhagan in USA. Asian Suresh Entertainment is releasing Sathyam Sundaram in Telugu.
