Ajayante Randam Moshanam aka ARM is an upcoming Malayalam language 3D multi-starrer which is scheduled to release in theaters tomorrow i.e. September 12, 2024. The movie's ensemble has names like Krithi Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh, Basil Joseph, Surabhi Lakshmi, Harish Uthaman among others, and it is touted to be lead actor Tovino Thomas' biggest release yet. 

What is ARM film about?

ARM stands for Ajayante Randam Moshanam which translates in English to Ajayan's second theft. The movie is set in Northern Kerala, spanning three timelines i.e. the 1900's, 1950's and 1990's. Tovino Thomas plays three generations of heroes, namely Maniyan, Kunjikelu, and Ajayan, who are all from the same lineage. How they try and protect the most important treasure of the land is what ARM is all about. 

ARM teaser, trailer & story

ARM teaser released on May 19, 2023 showcases Maniyan as the thief who stole the 'Holy lamp'. ARM trailer released on August 25, 2024 adds that this holy lamp is the result of a fireball that fell from a celestial body, and that it is an important treasure in the lands of Chiyyothi Kaavu, in the village of Haripuram. Interestingly, Aishwarya Rajesh's character is named Chothi in ARM movie.

ARM trailer also introduces Kunjikelu, the second generation Tovino Thomas, as a skilled Kalari combatant. Aishwarya Rajesh is paired opposite Kunjikelu Tovino Thomas in ARM. Maniyan Tovino Thomas is paired opposite Surabi Lakshmi who plays Manikyam. 

Ajayan Tovino Thomas is the third generation hero in this story, who is paired opposite Krithi Shetty. ARM trailer suggests that Maniyan who stole the Holy Lamp hid it beyond the reach of humans for three generations. Krithi Shetty's Lekshmi character is seen encouraging Ajayan for the 'second theft' or the 'second robbery', which will retrieve the said treasure, and bring to light the secrets it carries with it.  

ARM censor, runtime & other release details

Censored U/A, ARM's runtime is 2 hours and 25 minutes. The movie was shot in 2D, and has been converted to 3D for release. ARM hits theater screens on September 12, 2024 in 2D, 3D formats across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages. ARM Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada versions have voice-overs by stars Mohanlal, Chiyaan Vikram and Shivarajkumar respectively. 

Prime Media is releasing ARM film in USA. According to the banner, ARM's 3D release is the second biggest for a South Indian movie, following Shankar, Rajinikanth's 2.0 (2018). ARM 3D movie is written by Sujith Nambiar, with additional screenplay from Deepu Pradeep. The movie is directed by Jithin Laal, and has Dhibu Ninan Thomas for music, Jomon T John for cinematography, and Shameer Muhammed for edits. The film is a production venture of UGM Productions, and Magic Frames.
