Amaran in theaters from today! 5 reasons to watch the Sivakarthikeyan movie

Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead is in theaters worldwide today, and the movie has been touted as the biggest release for the actor yet. The movie has not just released in Tamil but also Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.

Five reasons to watch Amaran in theaters this Diwali:

1. Powerful Story: Amaran is a biopic based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who lost his life during an impromptu counterterrorism operation while serving in the Indian army. Amaran covers his story from birth, to his college days where he met his wife, his life in the army and the fateful Qazipathri operation in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, which earned him a posthumous Asoka Chakra. The movie deserves a watch for it depicts the struggles of Indian servicemen in balancing an extremely demanding career, and personal life, all for protecting peace in the country and the life of its citizens.

2. Genre: Amaran is not just a biopic but it also an authentically made Indian army film. This area is rarely touched in Tamil cinema, and for its very genre, Amaran deserves a watch in theaters.

3. Sivakarthikeyan: The closest we've got to see Sivakarthikeyan playing a serious army man was in the Nelson Dilipkumar directed Doctor, which released exactly three years ago. With Amaran, we get to see a full fledged serious lead in Siva, minus his template goofiness. Amaran is pegged to be the 'next step' in Sivakarthikeyan's career, and his first full fledged serious role brings a lot more intrigue for this reason.

4. Making: Amaran is a production venture of Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, and Sony Pictures International Production. The film has been ensured to replicate reality not just in Indian army warfare, but also in the stories and characters connected to Mukund Varadarajan. Writer, director Rajkumar Periyasamy also promises of a strong yet engaging emotional tale with Amaran

5. Other: Not just Sivakarthikeyan, but Amaran also boasts of strong performers like Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, Bhuvan Arora among others in pivotal characters. The movie promises of sound technicals including music by G V Prakash, cinematography by CH Sai, and action by Anbariv, Stefan Richter. Amaran's runtime is 2 hours and 48 minutes, and those who've caught the movie early on reveal that the final 10 minutes is sure to leave everyone teary-eyed.
