Actor Ajith Kumar is one Tamil star who has always been fan-aware, and has never shied away from course-correcting them with an official statement from his desk. During the pandemic, when his film Valimai took its sweet time in production, Ajith gently reminded his fans of the look it gives when they go around asking for 'Valimai updates' in places like political events.
"Cinema is just entertainment for you. But for me it is my profession. My decisions depend on my work and social welfare. Our respect in this society is decided by our actions. Keeping this in mind, I request that fans maintain discipline and decorum in public events and on social media. I hope that those who truly love me will act accordingly" - Ajith Kumar (February 2021)
That same year, Ajith also sent out a request to the media and fans to not associate his name with any kind of monikers like 'Thala', after Ajith fans went after actor Dhanush for a tweet that referred to Indian cricketer MS Dhoni as the 'one and only Thala'.
"To The Respected members of the Media, public and genuine fans. I henceforth wish to be refered to as Ajith,Ajith kumar or Just AK n not as "Thala" or any other prefix b4 my name" - Ajith Kumar (December 2021)
Suffice to say actor Ajith is mindful of how his fans' affection towards him, doesn't inconvenience the society or anyone in individual. Off late, Ajith Kumar fans have taken to chanting his name in the manner, 'Kadavuley, Ajithey' which translates to 'Dear God, Ajith'.
While this is the short version, the full version of it goes, "Kadavuley, Ajithey, Uyirey, Ajithey, Rathamey, Ajithey, Nadiyey Ajithey, Ajithey, Kadavuley" which means 'dear God is Ajith, life is Ajith, blood is Ajith, pulse is Ajith, Ajith is God'.

Recently it went as far as Sabarimala devotees taking it to the Sree Dharma Sastha Temple, and chanting the same while holding a banner for the actor outside the place of worship. Requesting an end to all this, actor Ajith Kumar has once again addressed his fans with an open statement, and it reads,
"Greetings!!!
Of late, a certain factor has been disturbing me and in particular slogan, "K........ Ajithey" has been publicly recited on various events & public gatherings
I am uncomfortable with superlatives or any kind of prefix mentioned alongside my name
I prefer being addressed by my name or my initials.
I take this opportunity to request all those who indulge in this slogan shouting practise in public places to stop this with immediate effect & restrain themselves from doing so ever again.
My sincere request to everyone is to Work Hard, Play hard without hurting anyone, look after your respective families & Be law abiding citizens
Wishing you all and your respective families a beautiful life!
Live & Let Live!!Love,
Ajith Kumar (sic)" (December 10, 2024)
