Actor Prabhas' first look from Kannappa movie is out now, and the Telugu star has been revealed to play 'Rudra', a force of divine strength, wisdom, and protector in the Vishnu Manchu film. A mythological film based on the legend of Kannappa, a devotee of Hindu God Shiva, Kannappa movie is scheduled to release on April 25, 2025.

Kannappa has screenplay by Vishnu Manchu, and also has the actor playing the lead. Besides Prabhas, Kannappa has cameo appearances from Bollywood star Akshay Kumar who plays Lord Shiva, Kajal Aggarwal who plays Goddess Parvathi Devi, Shiva's wife, Malayalam star Mohanlal who plays 'Kirata', widely believed to be a mountain-dwelling incarnation of Shiva. 

Kannappa has story by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G. Nageswara Reddy, Thota Prasad, and is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. The movie also stars Mohan Babu, Tamil actors Sarath Kumar, Yogi Babu, Karunas, Aishwariyaa Bhaskaran, actresses Preity Mukundhan, Madhoo, among others.

The movie is a production venture of  24 Frames Factory, and AVA Entertainment. The technical crew of Kannappa includes Stephen Devassy for music, Sheldon Chau for cinematography, Anthony Gonsalvez for edits, Prabhu Deva for choreography, and Kecha Khamphakdee for stunts.
