Despite being a Mollywood film star, actor Dulquer Salmaan has had as many movie releases in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, as Malayalam since 2020. February 3, 2025 marks 13 years since Dulquer Salmaan entered the Indian film industry, and marking the occassion, the actor unveiled the first look of his upcoming home production, Kaantha. 

A Tamil-Telugu bilingual jointly produced by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films, and Rana Daggubatti's Spirit Media, Kaantha is set in 1950s Madras (now Chennai), and is about the complexities of human relationships and societal change during a dynamic period in history. The movie is written and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. 

Also starring Bhagyashree, and Samuthirakani in important roles, Kaantha has Jhanu for music, Dani Sanchez Lopez for cinematography. Taking to X, Dulquer Salmaan shared the first look poster with the caption,
