Ed Sheeran's +–=÷× tour (pronounced the mathematics tour) is currently in its India leg, and the British pop star held a concert in Chennai last night as a part of it. The Grammy winning Ed was joined on stage by Chennai's own Grammy winner AR Rahman as a surprise act. AR Rahman and Ed Sheeran performed a mashup of Urvashi Urvashi and Shape Of You, both timeless hits of the respective musicians.

Ed Sheeran took to Instagram to share the video with the caption, "What an honour AR Rahman". In response AR Rahman took to X to post:

Ed Sheeran's Chennai concert on February 5, 2025 at the YMCA Ground was opened by singer Jonita Gandhi. She grooved to the famous Arabic Kuthu song from the Tamil movie Beast (2022), which had her vocals alongside song's composer Anirudh Ravichander's.
