TC Balaji better known by his stage name Daniel Balaji is a well recognized face in the Tamil film and TV circuit, and the actor passed away aged 48 on March 29, 2024 due to a heart attack. Daniel Balaji was the maternal cousin of the late Tamil actor Murali, and Tamil film actors Atharvaa Murali and Akash Murali are Daniel Balaji's first cousins once removed, aka second nephews. 

A year since Daniel Balaji's passing his final film RPM is back in the news. At the beginning of this month, actor Vijay Sethupathi released a title look of RPM, which gave away that Daniel Balaji plays a villain with a hustle in the movie. Now RPM's writer, director Prasad Prabhakar has revealed that Daniel Balaji plays an organ trafficking criminal who gets blue prints of houses under the guise of movers and packers.

“He (Daniel Balaji) is the mastermind behind all that's happening”, Prasad Prabhakar told TOI. He also stated, "RPM is about a pharmacist (Dhaya Prasad) who becomes aware of a group of criminals who kidnap girls for organ trafficking". Actress Devadharshini plays and investigative journalist in RPM movie while Y Gee Mahedran plays a grey shaded doctor. 

RPM Tamil film is a joint production venture of Prasad Prabhakar productions, and Golden Reel International Pictures.
