Retro starring Suriya in the lead is an upcoming gangster action releasing on May 1, 2025. The movie written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj is gearing up for a first single release titled Kannadi Poove, and a glimpse of the same has now released.

Kannadi Poove is sung and composed by Santhosh Narayanan, and has lyrics by Vivek. The song releases at 5 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Retro has Suriya appear in two different looks - one with a mullet and a Fu Manchu moustache, and the other with a shorter hairdo.

The Kannadi Poove song features Suriya with the mullet look, and the balladic number in longing of a romantic interest is reminiscent of Ava Enna song situation, from the Suriya-Gautham Menon hit, Vaaranam Aayiram (2008).
