Vishnuvardhan's screenplay and direction are a big let-down. The parallel scene constructions for Arya and Kreshna to establish their respective characterization as the story bounces back and forth in first half. Screenplay Makes The Plot Look Middling
Yatchan takes its time to settle down in the first half as the core plot is revealed only toward the interval block. Though the stage is plonked for a racy second half, the latter half of the movie is just passable with draggy screenplay at some places. (more)

Watchable with its share of suspense and laughter
Yatchan is not a film that might put a smile on your face when you leave the cinema hall but at the same time it is not a film that would make you regret either. (more)

A bit of comedy, thrill and action here and there
The plot just suffers too many sequences like this which is not filled with the apt ingredients. Somehow the use of Thala references is becoming a trend and one too many has been essayed in 'Yatchan'.(more)
