Story lacks depth, characters lack dimensions, director lacks imagination!
Half Girlfriend is a bad film, with nothing but an uncalled-for overdose of senti-ness. Mohit Suri is not learning and his commercial motives have outdone his ability to make decent films like Awarapan. Needless melodrama, pretentious pagalpan of the lover, absurd settings and some really sloppy w...(more)

Watch It Only If You Enjoy Sleeping In Air Conditioned Movie Theatres
A little bit of sensibility is expected from an author be it a book or a movie script. Only those who have lost someone close to cancer, know the pain. I am not divulging who said this to whom here as I would be giving away the entire story then. The half-baked story lacks depth and so do the lead ...(more)

We half liked Half Girlfriend
Under Mohit Suris baton, and staying faithful to Chetan Bhagats source material from his novel of the same name, the two give us some laugh-out loud, felt moments, but which ultimately get stymied by too much sufi-fuelled song, and some mis-steps. I half liked Half-Girlfriend.(more)

Movie Review
The first half breezes through, but post interval proceedings hang; in tandem with the hangdog expression worn by the hero. Arjun is sincere, but seems too urban for an ideal `Bihari fit. And Shraddha, who looks her loveliest here, lacks gravitas.(more)

Half Girlfriend is a full-fledged fiasco!
Based on a novel by Chetan Bhagat, Half Girlfriend pitches Madhav Jha (Arjun Kapoor) as a humanitarian endeavouring to set up toilets in his mom's school and promote girls education, an undertaking he conveniently forgets in his preoccupation to find a girl in NYC's live singing bars on the basis of...(more)

Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoors film isnt a page-turner
Mohit Suri knows how to throw melodious music to hook audiences and he does that to stretch a thin plot for almost two-and-a-half hours. Suri isnt the only one guilty here. Even if you ignore Shraddha Kapoors rich people have severe domestic issues expressions, you cant do the same with Ar...(more)

Arjun, Shraddha, Chetan Bhagat. Enough said.
Director Mohit Suri tries hard to save this half-baked story with many wistful songs and rain numbers... the latter would need an entire page to itself. Riya Somani's obsession with walking out in the rain, eyes half-open, is used so many times and in so many places that you want to shift to the Ata...(more)

Arjun, Shraddha in a half-baked and a quarter palatable film
Those who have read Half Girlfriend say this is quite a faithful adaptation, and perhaps even better than Chetan Bhagats novel. I shudder to think how laborious the book must have been given the paper-thin story.(more)
