The film does not heed even for a second to a compromise of any sort. There is no attempt to manufacture a laugh or a manipulative emotion at any stage. The song with montages that shows glimpses from the lives of the principal characters is brilliantly done. (more)

'Kuttram Kadithal' is an absolute cinematic masterpiece, brilliantly portraying the core essence of human emotions
kudos to director Bramma for making a film which is filled with plethora of real life characters, textbook screenplay, poignant music and effortless acting. As you read the plot, it's a simple film but the sublime detailing and exemplary execution provides us a lifetime movie watching experience and undoubtedly, Kuttram Kadithal is one of the best films ever made in Tamil cinema.(more)

A well-deserved National Award
The film may be a tough pill for entertainment seekers. The initial sequences used to establish the characters are a bit far stretched than required; the film gets a little melodramatic towards the end and the climax may look like a convenient option.But these are pitfalls that would have no say in suggesting 'Kuttram Kadithal' as a must watch.(more)
