Pichaikkaran, right from the start, was a melodrama that had some points to convey. It suits the Mainstream Audience exclusively as it brought the image of honest and humble character and the sentimental touch of maternalism that fluxed to the end. 1 star for working the maternal kinship right. A decent entertainer from Sasi. Director comes up with the concept of Multi Millionaire taking up begger life for 48 days to save his mothers. What happens next is the story. Sasi shows us routine life of beggars their issues within the zone that dont go overboard like a tear jerker, but does make an impact. The next half moves predictably like positive-heroic-climax. There is nothing unique about the film, but sasi managed to deliver a film that is engaging. A lot unknown actors who acted in small roles too makes an impact. (more)

Sasi makes a fair impression with Picha karan. But the screenplay is so-so and not like Naan or Salim. Vijay Anthony has donea good job. There are multiple stories which dilute the impact. Heroine not really needed. (more)
