Indian 2 FDFS Review
Everyone loves Indian Thaatha because of his uncompromising righteousness and his battle with his own physical and emotional vulnerabilities. This new edition of Thaatha is less relatable as he is younger, muscular, and invincible. Still Indian 2 is watchable for the second track approach which is ethical, moral, and emotional dilemmas it poses.(more)

Indian 2 is a sequel of unwanted excesses
Kamal Haasan, too, does his bit of heavy lifting, including going shirtless for a stunt scene, in a role that has scope only for prosthetic makeup and not performance. It is only when the film explores the personal stakes that we care about it and realise what it could have been. We wish there had been more of scenes like the one in which Chitra Aravindan has to expose his father and suffers a loss due to his action. Perhaps, it would have been effective if the narrative had been a contained one, focusing strictly on this conflict, instead of being expansive in an effort to go pan-Indian.(more)

Kamal Haasan's film is visually striking, but filled with political sermons
Indian 2 desperately tries to combine the old and the new, to present to us a story thatll be appealing to the younger audience. Kamal Haasan says hes fighting for Indias second Independence in the film. But the audience is left fighting to figure out whats good in this misfire of a film.(more)

Kamal Haasan-Shankar film is an emotionless social commentary
'Indian 2' is weak in every aspect. Underneath the mess, there lies ONE interesting idea. But, by then, the film comes to an end - much to the relief of everyone. Performance-wise, Kamal Haasan speaks Hindi, according to the demography, but has been dubbed in Tamil, which is off-putting. The only portion which gave everyone goosebumps, was when the trailer of 'Indian 3' rolled out in the end credits.(more)

Kamal Haasan Shines In This Super-Entertaining Cocktail Of Vigilantes & Social Cleansing
Kamal Haasan fans will obviously go berserk over this film. But if you are one of those for whom entertainment means a classic Indian movie with action, drama and emotions, you will enjoy it too as a one-time watch with a sequel (said to have been shot simultaneously) to come.(more)

Go back, Indian
Indian 2 can be called a deeply dispiriting sequel, I think; its a film that shows almost no understanding of the soul and strength of the first film and its protagonist. For these reasons, its really hard not to join the chorus of citizens in this film as they fling objects at the protagonist and yell, Go back Indian!(more)

Kamal Haasan Elevates Overwritten Sequel
Indian 2 does not cohere together as seamlessly as one hopes and works more like an overwritten prelude to the events of the next installment and that is unfortunately all it does.(more)
