Nitham Oru Vaanam

Critics Review

All Over The Place!

Admirable presentation in terms of technicality and the performances of the artists are also impressive, the core content had the potential to deliver a feel-good flick, but the opportunity was turned down due to a storytelling that could not connect much with the viewers.(more)

A pleasant, if predictable, drama

By the end, just as we expect, Arjun learns to be positive. He grows in confidence and sleeps outdoors, wipes his wet hands on his dress, goes to far off places (unlike his older self, who did not even want to go beyond Chennai for his honeymoon), and lets go of his baggage, literally! Flies high with its life changing stories

Ra. Karthik has impressed with his storytelling techniques and by extracting solid performances from his cast. He has succeeded in making the film work as both a romance and a road movie but its his theme that makes him standout. Viacom18 Studios and Rise East Entertainment have produced this quality flick.(more)

Sincere performances elevate this breezy, feel-good entertainer

Despite being made on a massive canvas, NOV is a simple film that conveys a simple message. It encourages us to smile whenever possible, show some kindness to people around us and embrace life as it comes. Several times in the film, I found myself smiling at the screen subconsciously. I guess this is a good enough reason to believe simple, feel-good films always matter.(more)

Ashok Selvan shines in a gentle, breezy travel feature

Nitham Oru Vaanam feels like a fresh dose of hope. Be it Vidhu Ayyannas simple but elegant frames or Gopi Sundars music that doesnt distract one from the flow of the film, a lot comes together well to ensure the film is as gentle as a breeze and yet as deep as the ocean. Above everything else, Nitham Oru Vaanam is a tribute to the kids within us who saw towels as capes, and not many films manage to do that as elegantly as this one.(more)
