Dabangg is loud, crazy, zany, exaggerated, larger-than-life, almost nonsensical, totally make-believe, comic book like, complete kitsch, generously peppered with the mandatory desi tadka (garnishing) of songs and dances that keep popping out of nowhere and is literally oozing with star charisma. Catch the new Salman Khan

Debut director Abhinav Kashyap adds in elements from the 1970s and 1980s potboilers: the larger-than-life dialogue, the good son who's a cop, the sneering villain, the helpless mother, the village girl, and so on.
